I didnt bring any other ammo with me, so I couldnt try anything else. Even with a dirty chamber or a corroded cartridge case, the extractor tension combined with rapid slide movement create enough force to pull the case from the chamber. Every round of 115 grain Remington FMJs I tried to fire failed to eject, causing a jam. A failure to extract occurs when the cycle of operation is interrupted by a cartridge case that becomes stuck in the chamber. So, last week I bought an Ultra Carry II in 9mm. I've been kicking around the idea of a commander size (full size grip, but slightly shorter barrel) 1911 since it seems they can be had in reliable configurations. Earlier this year, bought a Micro 9, which works great. This gun was made out of failure and held together with defects.
A lot of problems my friends have had with their full size models have been fixed by replacing the recoil spring and using chip mccormick power mags. Live rounds stovepipe style, live rounds inverted stovepipe style, empty case stovepipe, empty case flipped 180 and fed rim first into the chamber (or attempted) the list goes on- Failure to strip a round off the magazine, failure to extract, failure to eject. However, I have had a couple springfield or rock island armory GI or Mil-Spec full size models that have shot just fine. The pistol selection at RK Guns includes Glock, Smith & Wesson, Kimber, Kel-Tec, Beretta, Daniel Defense, and 43 other handgun manufacturers.Today will be about a handful of some of the hottest pistols on the market this month. Prices for the two run from 1,210 on the high end to 651 on the low. Yes, it stuffs 9mm rounds into its double-stack magazines like a chipmunk filling its cheeks with nuts for winter. In my own personal experience, it seems like the compact/micro versions seem to have problems, or at least more prone to them. For this story, Kimber provided samples from the linea high-end Micro CDP (LG) and a lower-priced Kimber Micro Carry. At first blush, the Kimber R7 Mako might not catch your eye, but don’t be fooled. I've always had luck with 5" gov't models that were as close to the original 1911 design as possible. My two personal choices for 1911s have been S&W and Colt.
